The Organ

St George's Episcopal Church

Our Organ

Its Story

The Wicks pipe organ at St. George’s was built by the Wicks Organ Co. of Highland, IL in 1968.

It was originally installed in the Church of God, Coalinga, CA. After the big Coalinga earthquake in 1983, the organ was moved to the Fourth Street Church of God in Madera. With changing music tastes and the lack of an organist, the organ was up for donation. The organ played its first Sunday at St. George’s on Easter Sunday 2024.

The small 6-rank organ fits the St. George’s sanctuary beautifully. In due course, 5 more ranks will be added to the organ.
